February 26 the Student Association is hosting a carnival/state fair theme banquet. For many students this is a highlight of second semester. For a successful banquet the Student Association needs the help of parents. If you can help please contact one of the following:

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY
In honor of Black History Month, Regions is proud to offer the Regions Riding Forward Scholarship. The scholarship can be found at: http://regions.com/ridingforward “...write a 500-word essay about an African American, past or present, who has inspired you.”

SPRING SEMINARS—Dr. Arlene Taylor

McKEE LIBRARY EVENT
Dr. Robert Barnett, Professor of History at Lee University, will lecture on “The Gilded Age: Literary Reflections of an America in Transition”. The event will happen at 7pm Feb. 20, and is open to all!
CA PRAYER GROUP
This group meets on Wednesday mornings at 8 AM. Anyone in the community is invited.
MUSIC PERFORMANCE SCHEDULES
Please check http://camusic.shutterfly.com/ for the most current music performance schedules. This is the web site for the CA Music Department. You will find schedules for all choirs, Band, and Orchestra as well as Listening to Music and pictures of various activities and trips.
PRE-ARRANGED ABSENCES
If a student is going to miss school for family days off, etc., he/she must complete a prearranged absence form, available in the school office. Failure to do so will result in unexcused absences. This form must be filled out and signed by a parent/guardian before obtaining faculty signatures. Forms are due by 8 AM the Wednesday BEFORE the day(s) missed. During Week of Prayer each semester, pre-arranged absences are not allowed.

•To change default settings, log in to PowerSchool—codes were printed on student schedules
•Under Email Notifications, choose your settings for daily, bi-monthly or monthly and if you want more detailed lists of grades or attendance.
•Weekly emails are sent on Sunday night and CA cannot change that day/time
•On the grades list, click on the blue letter grades to see score details
•On attendance numbers in blue, also click to see date/class details for absences and tardies.
