Our History

Collegedale Academy was founded as the Graysville School at Graysville, Tennessee, in 1892.  Later the name was changed to Southern Training School, and in 1916 it was moved to Collegedale, Tennessee, where it reopened as Southern Junior College.  In 1936 the secondary school was given separate status and was renamed Collegedale Academy. In 1968, it separated from Southern Missionary College and became part of the Greater Collegedale School System (GCSS) and eventually moved into the current buildings and campus in 1970.  Since then a gymnasium and Science/Technology building have been added to the campus.

Our Spiritual Focus

We seek to provide an environment where spiritual growth and development are encouraged among students and staff.  Bible classes, chapels, mission trips, local community outreach, Bible conferences, and Bible study form the foundation for all of our spiritual activities that are infused throughout our school program.
